Support NZGBA
Contribute to NZGBA
Support the community, business, educational and cultural activities that bring Kiwis and friends of New Zealand together in the Greater Bay Area. You can contribute financially or volunteer your time, skills and local knowledge.

A contribution can support a particular activity or the organising work and useful regional resources behind it. Choose the way that fits you.
Build on real activity
Andre founded NZGBA in Shenzhen in 2026 to strengthen grassroots New Zealand connections in southern China. To date, he has personally covered all financial costs of establishing and running the network and contributed hundreds of hours of unpaid work. Volunteers have also helped deliver activities.
A more sustainable base of financial support and voluntary participation would allow NZGBA to contribute more consistently to community life, business exchange, education and culture across the GBA.
What support can help make possible
NZGBA's 2026 activities have included its first Shenzhen gathering on 14 June, a meeting with the Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association on 15 July, the Shekou Summer Camp's New Zealand Culture session on 23 July and a discussion with visiting University of Auckland MBA students on 19 August.
NZGBA coordinated the New Zealand section of the Hello APEC Oceania market on 19 September. Food, products, cricket and a haka performance gave visitors different ways to experience New Zealand, with participating businesses and volunteers contributing to the activity.

Contribute financially
Voluntary financial contributions can help fund community gatherings, cultural and educational activities, business discussions, event materials and useful local resources. You may wish to support an agreed activity or the organising work shared across them.
You do not need to become a sponsor
Individuals and businesses can offer financial support without seeking sponsorship or promotional recognition. If you would like an agreed sponsorship arrangement, we can discuss that separately.
Get in touch before contributing
Please email us with what you would like to support. Contributions will be discussed before acceptance; tell us whether you have a particular activity in mind or would like to support broader organising work.
Before any funds are accepted, the purpose, receiving entity, payment handling, receipt arrangements and applicable requirements must be confirmed. Please contact us first; this page does not collect payments.
Contribute time and skills
You can help at an event, share a skill or offer local knowledge to someone new to the GBA. One-off help and ongoing involvement are both welcome; we will agree a role that fits your interests and availability.
- Events and organising: help prepare a gathering, welcome guests or assist with an agreed activity on the day.
- Culture, education and professional exchange: offer a talk, demonstration or cultural contribution that fits an activity and your experience.
- Photography: document an agreed activity, with the organiser's guidance on permission and how images will be used.
- Local introductions and knowledge: introduce a willing venue, speaker or community contact, or share useful local information.
Be a local contact in your city or district
If you know your area and are happy to hear from newcomers, you could be a local point of contact for Kiwis or Kiwi businesses moving there. This might mean answering everyday questions, sharing what you have learnt about living or doing business locally, or introducing people to willing community and business contacts.
Tell us which city or district you know and the kinds of enquiries you would be comfortable helping with. We will agree how introductions are made and obtain your permission before sharing your contact details. You do not need to be available all the time or have every answer.
Tell us how you would like to help
Email us your city or district, interests, relevant experience and availability. We can discuss a one-off activity or an ongoing role, including the time involved, who you would work with and any costs.
If you would like agreed sponsorship recognition or participation, see sponsorship opportunities. For planned membership, see 2027 Membership. To take part in a gathering, see current NZGBA events.
